hotel staff
legrand
As a representative of the hotel, Legrand takes his appearance very seriously. He should look very important. His clothes should be very pristine, at least at the beginning of the film. I like the idea of coat tails maybe. Another idea is to have a coat with a trim on the collar and/or sleeves to make him stand out. Or maybe a regular suit coat would work fine. I also like the idea of him having a bowtie and pocket square, possibly in the same color as the hotel. A vest seems like a good idea as well, although my concern is that he should look different from Alex so the audience really notices when the two characters change clothes. So maybe a white vest or no vest would be better for Legrand. Also, Legrand should have boxer shorts, a white tank top, and high socks (maybe garter socks?) under his uniform.
Alex
Unlike Legrand, Alex's uniform is far from pristine. He's young, messy, and doesn't especially care about the hotel's reputation. His shirt is always coming untucked, and his tie is constantly askew, much to the annoyance of his boss. I like the idea of a white shirt and vest the color of the hotel for Alex. He needs to look different from Legrand, so maybe a tie instead of a bowtie. I also really like the idea of a hat. Nothing screams bellboy like one of those hats. Also, Alex should be wearing boxer shorts under his uniform, maybe with red or white hearts.
Alex and Legrand exchange uniforms in the later scenes, so we need to make sure that will work. Legrand's uniform should be a little baggy on Alex, and Alex's should be a little tight on Legrand. But they should fit. We may need an extra of each uniform in the right size if the clothes don't fit the other actors.

Nicole
Nicole should look much more professional than Alex and much closer to Legrand's ideal. I picture a skirt and suit coat with a white blouse and prominent neckerchief in the hotel's color to match Legrand and Alex.
Waiter
We'll only see the waiter from behind, and in fact the shot will be focused on the water, so we might only see the waiter's arm and a little of his/her side. But I picture something like this. White shirt, black pants, and either a black apron, or one matching the hotel's color. Also a tie, probably either in black or with the same hotel color.
others
Grace
Grace should look like a classic American girl. She's care's about her appearance, but she's stylish without being very original. I think she does all her shopping at the Gap and other chain stores. I like the idea of a summer dress, maybe 50s style with a sweater over it. And maybe some colorful tights. I think Grace is very colorful. She also needs a purse to keep the gun in. It should be big enough to put over he shoulder when she walks, but not too cumbersome.
MARGOT
Margot needs to look both very sexy and very classy. She's isn't just a regualar prostitute, she's a very expensive one. I want to be careful that we find something that the actress is happy with and comfortable wearing. She needs to be able to move and run around a little. I like the idea of either a full corset or a corset-like bra with some panties. She also needs stockings to put on in scene 4. It would be nice if the stockings fastened to her corset or panties. In scene 30 Margot pulls a robe from Paul's closet and puts it on. A white or very light-colored robe would be best so we can really see Paul's blood spray on her when Grace shoots him. Maybe there could be an "A" or some hotel logo on the robe as well. We will have to do a few takes of the blood spray, so it would be nice to have some extra robes, if possible.
DETECTIVE GIRARD
I picture Detective Girard as walking straight out of an old film noir (minus the hat). He's a tough, grizzled veteran who cares more about catching criminals than he does about his clothes. His suit is a little wrinkled and shabby. He tie a little loose. He's tired from a long day and an even longer career.
Paul
It's late when Rick goes up to Paul's room, and Paul is already in bed. I like the idea of Paul wearing some button-up pajamas to show that he's a little old-fashioned and boring.
rick
I'm picturing a less cool version of this first picture for Rick. He's not rich and not especially stylish, but this is the look he's going for. It would be great if he had an ugly floral shirt with a wrinkled linnen jacket and a panama hat. I also like the sunglasses to hang from his shirt. I think his camera should look old, but it also need to be digital so that Grace can delete it later. One of those ditigal cameras that look like an old metal film camera would look great. But maybe this is a question for the props department?
Pascal and bouchet
I think of Pascal and Bouchet as typical TV cops. They should have plain clothes and not uniforms. I see Pascal wearing dark clothes and a leather jacket. Bouchet should have a suit that should be somehow distinct from Girard's. Maybe Bouchet dresses a little younger and more stylish than the older Girard?
